How hard is a conversion to a hydraulic clutch? Im new to the 4x4 community but everything i have found is i should switch it up.

If yours is working fine, there's no reason to switch. It can be a lot of work depending on which truck you have.

If a later year truck has the same body style as yours and had a hydraulic clutch option, thats probably the easiest to do.

I to am running the mechanical linkage still. If i had access to hydro it would be a toss up if id switch it out.

the general feel of guys here is

if you can go for it. but if you cant get the hydro pedals then dont try. can be hard to find and $$$

also the hydro = less pedal feel of the clutch. its basicly on/off.

mechanical if all good/tight/lubed/and no body flex problems will work just fine and give more feedback/feeling .

few upgrades to do to mech is good body bushings/no major slop in piviot point holes/some do a custom made linkage rod from z-bar to clutch pedel in cab with hiem joints and is adjustable. then a hiem end from the z-bar to clutch fork. but this realy tightens stuff up and firm feel. but make sure you have min box flex or it can activate the clutch some if body flex gets out of control.
