Like i said i know d**k about automotive electrical wiring :dunno:.

Fixing on wiring up my CB so i dont have to communicate via horn honking on the trail. I *would like* to wire the power directly into the fuse panel and not have to splice into dash wires but have no fing clue what im doing.

Any tips/steps/input/pictures would be appreciated.

Let the flaming begin..........:weapon11:

They sell fuse taps that I have used before.
Most parts houses carry them.
There are two types. One for the old style glass fuses and one for the newer type. You just hook pull the fuse, hook the tap on and put the fuse back in.
This gives you a spade connection that you can plug the CB wire into.
I'll see if I can find some pics or links.

Number B (tab style) would be the one i need but what about wiring it into an unused fuse slot? Looking at the box this morning theres a few unused slots in the panel.

If the slot is hot, it should work. You might need to put a fuse in to hook that adapter to, or just use a male spade terminal.

I've done both.

You know you can go straight from the battery right? You'll get less electrical noise that way, and avoid any ground loop issues. Just need some more wire and an inline fuse holder, putting the fuse as close to the battery as possible.

I would but I hate random wire like I hate taking a nut shot. Had an 1114 that had that affliction a few years back and it kept setting my ass on fire (literally). Kinda scarred for life now.

Call me. I will be in my shop tomorrow working on my rig after about 10am. I could run you through it.
