Anyone using a MegaSquirt? Likes or Dislikes? I recently tuned one in a friends car and they are kinda neat. Seems like a forced induction setup wouldn't be to hard either.

I am in the process of converting a s-10 to run one when i swap a turbo on to it. I am waiting for there GIPO boards to come out so i can do transmission control with it too. I bought a bare board and put it together myself it was not bad at all to do. They are great if you plan on doing a lot of mods to the engine and upgrades in the future, mega squirt is so adaptable it is a great Mod for any fuel injected engine

My goal is to run a 383 LT1 with a turbo. I have both but there is still alot left to do. I plan on running a 700r4 so I don't need to control the trans. I also have a MegaSquirt that needs built yet. Seems like it will be a good winter project. I have a Stimulator from the last car I tuned. I procrastinate alot so it may be awhile for the updates. The Megatune software isn't really user friendly but once you learn it, it's not bad. Tell us when you get it running!

I'm running Megasquirt2 in my naturally aspirated TPI 383. It runs great, except for when my wiring issues came up. I am in the process of installing an American Autowire Highway 22 wiring harness. I am also going to redo the fuel injection harness.

Did you build it or tune it? What do you think of it. Ever had it fail? More info please.

I had it fail once while I was doing the initial set-up. I had the ignition settings wrong and burned up the ignition driver. I also had some distributor problems, but mostly due to running too much coil current and melting parts of the distributor. Again, that's really a tuning issue and not a MS failure. It seems risky putting everything on the ECU, but the truth is, that is what everybody is doing all around the world. Plus, can you really get a replacement stock ECU at a moment's notice in some strange town?

Yes, I built and tuned everything myself. Let me link you to my thread:
