Did a bit of exploring near Stave lake yesterday. Just the one truck so we didn't do anything hardcore...basically explored a FSR to it's end.

A small lake inaccessable by road. Sayres lake from about 400 feet above:

The road above:

People camped at the extreme north end of Alouette lake...looks to be accessible only by boat. This pic is about 1800 feet above the lake...

And a better shot of Alouette from near the end of the road...again about 1800 or so feet above the lake according to the GPS.

It's pretty much a straight drop from the road to the lake below...:eek1:

Did find a little rock climb to mess with, but it was pretty slick and didn't go anywhere. I got about halfway up. Stan has a few pic's of my attempt...

all in all a fun day anyways...

Absolutely great photos, dude!!!

Still like you're rear bumper better than mine......................:doah:

hmmm. i was just going to pm you and ask if you're a web wheeler or... then i found this thread!! :wink1: :D i shouldn't talk - i'll be web wheeling for the next couple months. I think my 700 actually kicked it yesterday - unbelievably horrible noise during parking (i try to drive it once a week to keep the oil circulated). ok, hijack off. cool pics. there's some places similar to that here - you can drive up around some pretty cool little roads out by detroit lake - they're paved tho.

Nice rene. Was it below snow level or has it just already melted?

awesome. believe it or not, your trucks basic idea is what I have in mind for mine... still very much a truck, but a full cage so i can take people out and explore, or do more difficult stuff

Hey Rene, I imagined you a little different. I figured you had one short arm and a limp. :D

Nice photos.

Man I miss B.C. I used to stay up in Valemont and have spent some time, not as much, but a little, in Langley...Beautiful pictures, thank you for sharing

Lucky a-hole, We're sweatin our arses off down here:crazy:

Oh to be back up North again.:( , but then again... I don't miss the skeeters.

You should put the pic of you as your avatar:haha: :haha:

Brian, still well below the snow line. There is quite a bit up there, but it's easily another thousand feet up from where we were. It had been in the upper 80's most of the week, but was only mid 50's yesterday. Still that time of year where shorts are fine one minute and then you're looking for a sweatshirt or jacket the next. We got a few minutes of light rain in the afternoon...but nothing too bad even with the top off.

Well, i don't get to go out as often as I'd like...

We have thousands of miles of forest service roads and hundreds of these lakes. I could probably go out every weekend for the next 20 years and possibly see 20% of it.

I really need to find a few local guys to wheel with though. I don't like doing anything too crazy when it's just one truck...

I like!!! Looks like a nice place to camp/hike.

:D Beautiful country, someday I'm going back !
you could hitch a ride up to the northwest w/ me end of the summer, if you want. :wink1:

Sweet pics Trusty! I was just up in your neck of the woods last week visiting a couple of RV dealers. Stayed in Surrey one night and then had to drive up to Kelowna, then back through Pentiction. More than a couple of times I had to think twice about taking my rented Yukon off the highway and going exploring. Then reality stepped in, being alone and getting stuck kept me on the road.

Must have been some kind of big Classic Car show in Kelowna or Pentiction for the long holiday weekend you guys had this weekend. I lost count of the cars I saw on the #3 and #3a highways.

Keep the pics coming!

Yeah the May long weekend usually means tons of car shows, and tons of wheelin going on.

You should have stopped by if you were that close...if you ever get up this way again let me know and we can get together for a beer or something.
