Did a bit of exploring near Stave lake yesterday. Just the one truck so we didn't do anything hardcore...basically explored a FSR to it's end.
A small lake inaccessable by road. Sayres lake from about 400 feet above:
The road above:
People camped at the extreme north end of Alouette lake...looks to be accessible only by boat. This pic is about 1800 feet above the lake...
And a better shot of Alouette from near the end of the road...again about 1800 or so feet above the lake according to the GPS.
It's pretty much a straight drop from the road to the lake below...
Did find a little rock climb to mess with, but it was pretty slick and didn't go anywhere. I got about halfway up. Stan has a few pic's of my attempt...
all in all a fun day anyways...

i shouldn't talk - i'll be web wheeling for the next couple months. I think my 700 actually kicked it yesterday - unbelievably horrible noise during parking (i try to drive it once a week to keep the oil circulated). ok, hijack off. cool pics. there's some places similar to that here - you can drive up around some pretty cool little roads out by detroit lake - they're paved tho.
, but then again... I don't miss the skeeters.
