Did you try to go on the Chrismas eve ride? Where do yall normally ride?

You mean that ride off the power lines in Paulding? Nooo not for me. Those folks got run off by the cops and they are ticketing on those trails now.

Grim is right. Paulding has pretty much been shut down. I live about 5-10 min. from those trails. I had to go help some friends get there jeeps out from there. Some of the land owners had spread some nails out on the trail. One of the jeeps had 2 flat tires.

I was there on Chrismas Eve when they said we couldn't ride in Paulding Co. Where do yall ride at now?

ORV or OHV? Which ones are you going to? Can you tell me any specific places?

Beasley knob in Blairsville is a good place to kill a day. dirrections on the link. That's the only place on that link that is for trucks.
There is Rich Mt In Ellijay. It's not listed because it's not a FS trail. it is a unmaintained county Rd. It bisects 2 peices of FS wilderness area so if you go STAY on the trail. That place is constanly under attack by Georgia Forst watch. Mostly because the local Yahoo's go running through the woods on ATV's. 515 north through East Ellijay. watch for the gravel pit on the right. right after that will be a right turn. short rd then make another right. the entrance is on the left. Not real hard but a couple places you can scew up. Been a Full size 79 bronco on it's side, a scout do a full roll and a Unimog run off the side of the mountain that I'm aware of /forums/images/icons/smile.gif I helped put the Bronco on it's wheels.
There is the Anderson Creek trails. Again not listed but it is legal. Three ways in. one is through the lodge, one is off of Roy rd and one of Buck town rd. Buctown side come in through private property but it's a protected trail under RS2744 (think that's the law). Hella fun rutt trail but not very long and that's the tough spot. Good hill climb back there also.
There should be the NEW Anderson Creek ORV opening late this year early next. It's just a couple miles up 53 from where the other Anderson Creek is. ATV been playing hell in there and they are going to lock it down while they build the trails
Both those are off 53 right at the Gordon county and Dawson county lines. Could drive you to Buck town rd but I can't tell you how to get ther. Bunch of twisty turn rds to get back there.
Bell Mt up by Young Harris is also fun. Some good ruts to run and great veiw from the top. just remeber the rd ENDs at the top and if you drive between the peaks at the top you will get to the bottom REAL quick. It's a Hella long way down. Bottom floor is about 1000ft. I hear that's the local "lovers leap".
That's the only LEGAL places to ride in N GA. I have heard of some trails up in Summerville but never been there to check them out. There are some private trails in Menlo that the Hummer club uses and I'm trying to get some access to that place for the GBR.

Paulding Co. was shut down because teenagers have no where to go to hang out. So they go out in the woods, leave trash, tear down the hunters tree stands, burn cars, burn the tree stands they tore down, leave fires burning with no supervision, fight, and pretty much cause problems for landowners and law enforcement. Anyway, we are trying to get a club started. The main reason is to try to get access to ride at McPhearson. We are talking with the hunting club that has the lease. With any luck they will work with our club to let us ride. There are a couple of other places to go (not in Paulding) but within 45mins of Dallas.

He has a One Ton Chevy truck. It was 2wd if I remember and was changed to 4x4. I saw it at East Hiram 4x4.

I hear you loud and clear. I have been battling the same sort of behavior around here. Trash dumping is the worst problem. I am from Carrollton, but I would be interested in your club. Where are these places 45min from Dallas? You can PM them to me if you want. Also, we are getting a club started to ride at the ORV area in Heflin, AL.

Thanks Grim. That's a pretty good drive for me, but I still appreciate it. Im more in West GA than north. In fact, I am just south of I 20 and just East of the Alabama line.

Keith is partially correct, my truck is a combination of several trucks. The frame is a 4wd, the cab was a 2wd auto, the front clip is off of something different than the cab. Basicly it was a big mess, I bought it that way not knowing that much about chevy trucks at the time. Live and learn I guess.
Now it has a 383 (built along the lines of a Lingenfelter motor) sm465, np205, 14BFF, D60, 5.13's, detroit's front and rear, and 44" boggers. I built it just to play in the mud, it does pretty good.

One is a place called flatwoods, the other is in Rome. Flatwoods is pretty cool, just don't go there during hunting season. There is not much to the place in Rome, just a lot of mud holes.

Are you talking about Taylor's farm between Cartersville & Rome? Power line trails with some great hill climbs, creek crossing, off-camber stuff, ect? Just wondering because the local Sheriff told us we needed writen permission to ride there.

Those are the closest trails to you that are legal that I am aware of /forums/images/icons/frown.gif Use to be a place in Peidmont AL but that's shut down.
