So we set off friday after work to head up to the morrow county OHV park for the weekend. We had never been, but they have tons of ATV trails and a mix of jeep trails.
We got about 30miles out of town and my blazer was starting to buck and shudder and couldnt maintain anything over 2000rpm, We pulled over and my plastic Fram fuel filter looked pretty nasty and looked like it was about to explode, After all the tools and parts that I packed I overlooked a couple extra feet of fuel hose
Some quick thinking Eddie and Me pulled the hose from the pcv valve, A transmission hump bolt, capped the vacuume for the pcv at the carb with the bolt, then bypassed the fuel filter with the remaining hose.
Off we went and an hour and a half later we were pulling in to the camp ground. Saturday we ate a huge breakfast and then set out with Eddies dad Ed in the yellow toyota Eddie, his girlfriend Kayla and me the wife and kids in the blazer. After pulling into the OHV park we stopped in at the office and talked to the guy and bought a map of all the trails, Away we went.
Overall the trails were fairly easy and I am really impressed with the new loc-right in the front of the blazer. Eddie took on the rock garden in his S-10 and did really well. A couple miles down the road he realized his steering was acting funny, After checking it out he had started to tear his track-bar off the axle. As luck would have it we noticed the damage next to thee parks boundry right next to a forest service road gate and a sherriff just happend to be driving by, we flagged him down and he opened the gate up for us to the nice flat road to limp his truck back to the campground.
Apparently the trails were closed to vehicles this weekend, but we were un-aware and he was really nice about it too, He checked the trucks out and was happy we had a good time.
On the way home we Drove through the ghost town of Hardman Oregon, Didnt know what it was until we got home and googled it, Kinda scared to stop and look around at the town with the wife and kids not knowing what it was.
We got back to camp and started to look for some solutions to get his truck somewhat roadworthy, The ratchet strap we used to get off the trail wasnt gonna cut it. Ends up that a 1972 Blazer body bolt was up to the task, After drilling out a hole and finding a couple spacers for the super long bolt, we got it put back together, He drove 35mph back home the 65miles.
So on to the pictures, I will get some more after getting what he has off his camera
