Merricks Garage - My Youtube channel with videos highlighting my build

You know whats funny, I even heard my accent when I was editing this video. I usually don't notice it at all until someone says something, but there were certain things I said that made me go "oh yea, that is what they are talking about"

ha ha

Been here for 30 years now!

Most of my wife's family is from England. You got nothing on them for the accent barely picked something up once in a while... lol Half of the time I don't understand what they're saying. But I do think they have a more colorful handle on the language - adjectives and such.

Seriously though, nothing wrong with it. Just curious. :thumb:

Ok, the vacation video is pretty cool but... We need more trailer updates! Now back to work! :wink1:

Ha Ha, I have a few updates ready to go. I have a tuning video done, the first part of the LS swap tutorial and Trailer part 3. I need to space them out, I can't drop them all at once. Good to keep them wanting more! LOL

Post the trailer stuff already!!!!!!

Living through you.

Too many projects to finish anything.

Waiting till my new rims and tires are paid for before I add the rack system to mine.

dude, I am so stoked you guys are liking them. It is one thing to get feedback from the masses on Facebook it is another thing to have other enthusiasts appreciating the time and effort these take. You guys are awesome.

I would never take any vehicle worth any money across the Mexican border. I have had several Mexican friends over the years tell me too many horror stories about things that have happen to them in Mexico, and their Mexican themselves. I do not care what anybody says about how many times they have been there with no problems...I WILL NOT DO IT!

Not to mention the wife and daughter. God forbid something would happen to them!No 3rd world countries for me thank you, other than the United States!

Live a little bit. I know the risks. I know situational awareness. I know how to take care of myself and mine and I know my limits. Don't let the media dictate where or how you travel.

ok, couple of questions and a comment or 2
Are you going to be able to seat that top w/o 370lbs on it?
What are you using for those locks?
Are you going to gusset those poles to help w/ sideloads, wouldn't hurt any?
How much throw are you going on those sliders, only looks like about 6" or so? Thought you were going to go down flush w/ the top of the bed rails.

Nice job on the pivot balls. Make sure they're greased so they don't rust.

It is almost impossible to seat without weight on it, but myself and one or two friends can do it. The roof top tent I am going with weighs 300lbs so it will help a lot. The locks are just T-Pins. I am trying to come up with something to gusset but as the top bar slides into the bottom I don't have a good idea on how to do it yet.

the rack raises about a foot.

Good job dude. Looks like a good series for someone who needs a starting point. Give them some overall ideas about things and what to google for more info.

Great video. Makes me want to go camping!

Been thinking about some shelves like that in my truck. Not sure mdf is the best choice - higher grade of ply may be better. Lighter and more water resistant. Maybe one of the many people on this forum would be interested in making some out of sheetmetal.

yea, I regret the MDF but I didn't really give it too much thought. They really weren't all that hard to make, so if something does warp them, I will make another set out of high grade ply. I have since carpeted them and got the draw pulls and sliders on. They are working great.
