Ok my buddys and i were driving though puddles really fast and of corse they make me go the most because i have the big truck with the big tires so the water goes higher well we had this really bad storm and there was this street flooded like 3 feet and i went about 30 into it and the truck died, it took like a min or 2 to get it back started. Did i get water in the engine? or the wires and cap just got wet? when i was driving for like 5 minutes it acted like it was gonna die twice but i hit the gas and it was fine, so what should i do?:doah:

Check your air filter and see if it is soggy, if it is, you probally got some water down the carb... Replace the filter and carry on.

Otherwise you probally got the ignition wet. Won't hurt anything, I swap my quad's ignition every single ride, just gotta dry it out and she'll fire right back up again.

If you did any serious damage, you'd have heard the knocking or seen the smoke from the exhaust pretty much right away :)

Make sure the air filter and ignition are dry.

If you didn't suck water through the motor, chock this one up as a learning experience.

Going fast through water = blown up motor.

That is unless you have some kind of snorkel setup.

Open distributor
Spray cap with WD40
Replace distributor cap
Carry on.
