Metal thickness

I have to make a patch panel that fits a the bottom of my front windshield just under the rubber seal for the windshield. Does anyone know what thickness the metal is on the cab??? Or what thickness I should use??

It's somewhere between 20 and 26 guage. I used 18 and 20 guage with good results.

From the GM sheetmetal I have seen most of it looks to be 22 -24 guage roughly. 20 guage should be a good choice to use for sheetmetal repair.
