Yesterday i noticed that when i change from park to reverse or any gear to a drive gear in either forward or reverse(automatic) it makes a tinging noise like a metal ball was in an aluminium bowl or somthing. I got under the truck yesterday and i tried turning the drive shaft and it was toght so i dont know what is could be. Any ideas? im scared to drive it because i think the drift shaft is going to come apart at one of the joints

That sound is probably in your drivetrain and is probably due to driveline slack of some kind. If you have a mechanical locker in the rear its probably normal.

Since you said this just started happening its probably something else. The driveshaft u-joints are the first place to look, make sure the truck is in neutral when you check for play in the joints (obviously chock the wheels or put the truck on stands before you do this).

After that it could be the transfer case or rear end.
