I have Astatic D 104 mic and was wondering if that was a better way to go than say a noise canceling mic? This would be for mobile use. And if the noise canceling is better what mic would ya recommend? TIA

Ive got an RK56, my friends say it sounds great, especially for being in my noisy cab with the windows down and the flowmaster 44's screaming. Heck, even using the PA I can hold the mic outside the cab and not get feedback. Just for the heck of it I plugged a stock cobra mic in and it was feedback hell even in the cab w/ the windows up.

Ive never been big on the power mic's cause knowing me the battery would never get replaced.

ok I was looking at that one or the Astatic 636L. I have had good luck with the D104 but its getting old and has seen alot of use in my concrete truck and now the 4X4. I thinks the 56 or 636 is just less to worry about as well. I hate the mic that came with the cobra 19 DX VI and my uniden 68. Anyone have another opinion on this?
Thanks

For what it's worth I've been a truck driver for over 14 years and the only mic I have ever had on my radio's was a Road King 56. In my opinion it's the best mic out there. Sounds great, takes a beating and lasts a long time.

Power mic's are useless, that's what the dyna-mic/mic gain knob is for.
