Mice in truck, what am I in for?

Somewhere I started a get rid of mice thread but can't find it now???
Lots of good responses in it

Break up soap bars like Irish clean.. Anything that has a good smell and is powerful like the peppermint oil drives them out.. Toilet bowl dealies like the hangars off the toilet seat work wonders for me..

The mice will nest in the heater core box. This is where they go almost every time, and when you turn on the AC, heat, or fan you will be breathing mouse hair.

And worse--mouse feces, piss, and all their diseases & fleas too...
I know someone who died at age 39 from inhaling a lot of mouse crap that was in many of the lawnmower engines he repaired at his bussiness..some kind of virus with a long name I cant spell basically killed his heart..

1-ton is right, the heater box is their favorite spot to build a nest and make a mouse condo, and the ductwork is like a tunnel they love..even has its own excersize wheel !...next to that, the seats, under them,or in door panels is also a place they like to nest..
I have found nests under my air cleaner on the intake, inside it also...

The headliner is also a popular place too--you have not lived until you've bought a truck that sat in someones back yard a long time--then find out when you get it going down the road, that the headliner is full of either live or dead mice, and a ton of feces--I've had a few live ones drop in my lap before, plus the headlined blocked my vision--almost caused me to crash.....

Well it was time. I grabbed the shop vac and headed to the truck. I cleaned everything out of the floor boards (tools) and started the truck up. Got the vac ready, about 15 seconds in mouse number one makes a break for it. I thrust with the nozzle and he jumped and disappeared under the seat somewhere. clearly I was up against professionals. I saw mouse 2, his nose just past the vent, he saw me and quickly ducked back inside. So I turned the heat on in the truck and turned the fan on max figured I could pressure him out that way. I kept waiting and waiting, i looked over and he is hanging from the far drivers side vent. I try and run over to that side and the extension cord hung up so I missed him. But his nose again was peaking out the lower vent under the steering wheel. I finally just revved the engine while holding the hose. Out he came and he jumped on the hose and ran the whole length to the ground and disappeared. Sadly I cant play many more games and just had to put some sticky traps down. I hate that as much as the next guy but the peanut butter wasnt working...

The mice that nested in some small engines I had stored in a truck body shed built their nests in the blower housings, and one Tecumseh they peed and pooped in so much actually rusted the fins off the flywheel, and the magnets glued to the inside of the flywheel came off,and fooled me into thinking it had seized up !..till I took it apart and found they used it for a cesspool ....

I had no idea where the magnets had to be positioned to properly fire the magneto,so I had to search for a similar engine that had a flywheel with the magnets permanently made into the flywheel,so it could run again...:(...bastids!..

I put drier sheets in the engines shrouds, and they must only hate "Bounce" brand ones,I used some other kind, they just shredded them up and made their nests out of them...their way of saying :flipoff10:

I left the door on the shed open overnight--next day I found several mice corpses on the floor and outside, missing their heads..my barn cats took care of them..:)..my way of saying :flipoff2:..

I never had any mice in my other "open" shed that has only a section of stockade fence for a door, that is about 6" off the ground and has about 2 feet of open space above it to the roof..the cats often sleep in there especially when its cold or snowy,or raining,so mice never get a chance to set up housekeeping in there..or the few that tried, didn't live long enough to do any damage..
