Mickey Thompson 54"s

Sounds like they have only made two sets so far, and both were on TTC rigs...

Rene

I noticed the new tire in the magazine last month, looks like it'll give some competition to the 54" bogger for trail rigs.
I liked my 39.5" baja claws overall but they were heavy (that article says the new ones are 200 pounds!)

will they fit on my stock '08 silverado????? :haha:

I am planning on claws on my 08 when it is out of warranty (going with 35-36's)...... hmmm how much more lift for 54's... and will nj allow it..

Some guys on the biggaytruckland forums bought a set, I don't know if they used them yet though.

I have seen them on Leroy Lathams rig. Can't really say if they are awesome or not, he likes them so far. They are a bit different than normal baja claws but really when your tire gets that big tread is alot less important.

Lol baja claws are useless hunks of rubber.

If your that big and that built why the f wouldnt you just buy boggers?

Well when your in top truck and Mickey Thompson says if you run our new 54s we will give them too you..................oh you don't have 20" rims no worries we will also throw in a set of stazworks rims!!!!!

At least they did for Leroy (he has the blue buggy with a 460) you don't really turn that down

K this is true I agree.

That's the dumbest comment I've read in a while... what's this based on?
I can tell you right now my 39.5" claws never got flat spots and ran straight as an arrow down the road which is more than I can say for my TSL SX's which are probably even better than Boggers in that regard.

I'm not talking on road. We're talking about 54in tires here. Everything I've read from people who have owned big claws says they dont hold a candle to boggers unless run backwards which eventually breaks belts.

I know from personal experience with friends trucks that under a 38in claw and you might as well have ATs.

I have had both boggers and sxs and I think the boggers went down the road better:haha: sxs are terrible road tires, of course i had the 33x15.50s what a weird size

My own personal observation of Mickey Thompson claws is they don't work that well on our lava rock and really not well in our mud.

Like I said though the bigger your tire gets the less important tread design is. To a point of course

Just saw them for sale at a few places online and was wondering. They ranged anywhere from 805-830 bucks a piece at the places I saw. So I guess if they've only made 2 sets they make them fresh when you order them like Wendy's:confused:........................................:haha:

Whole lot of good they do posting those pics when they're worthless because I'd rather see pics of someone standing beside them to get an idea how big they are. A pic of one of the competitors standing beside their rig would be better, too.

I know right. I searched and searched for pics that would give a perspective but no dice. I like the fact that they have enough tread depth and coverage to actually look like they would work right. The 54" Bogger doesn't seem to have deep or wide enough tread.

guess it doesn't matter as much when the tire is that size but still

this is the closest i have of anyone standing next to them

i have seen these in person at Bloomsburg jambo. Compared to the 54" bogger these things are mean. maybe a little grooving might help but they are plain awesome
