guy at work has a 93 ext 3500 chevy dually 2wd. motor has a head gasket leak so he parked it.

wants 200 for the motor 300 for everything.

what yall think? grab it and scrap the truck to get my cash back and build the motor into a bad ass gas burner
 
what all can i use off my small block for the 454? does the bellhousing bolt up the same for a big block as a small block? can i use my MSD dizzy?

i know all the brackets will be different for the accessories but what about motor mounts?

also what all do i need to steal from the 93 truck? motor and just the computer?

Same: Bellhousing is the same, Msd will drop right in but might not work if you converting to tbi (same mounting as a small block), motormounts are the same (at least my 74 was), and starter.

Whats not the same: Accessories, fan shroud, exhaust, and radiator hoses.

Id steal the motor, wiring harness in the engine compartment, computer, fuel lines, hoses, radiator, gas tank, shroud assuming you converting to tbi with this.
 
If you can buy the entire pickup for $300, and the engine alone for $200, you would be stupid to not buy the entire pickup.
