Put the spindles on my 1973 this afternoon. Then used the1973 hubs and new brake rotors. Got a problem. I installed the 4x2 adapter kit in my transfer case. Then pulled the Mile Marker locking hubs out and there is no way that they will work on my 1973 wheel assy.

What year hubs do I need? Or are there Mile Marker wheel assys that replace mine?

Fred

These must be external. there are bolt

holes in the base that I have no way to bolt them to anything.

So I take it your locking hubs look like the middle or right ones and your hubs do not have the 6 big bolt holes or vise-versa?

The top middle one is what they sent

Looks like they should have sent the ones on the left. Internal?

How do they mount securly into the opening in the wheel assy?

Fred

If its the internals you need, the internal base of the locking hubs go into the hub housing and get held in place with a snap ring, then the outer cap(dial)gets screwed to the base.

Since there

is nowhere to bolt what I received to anything that I have, then I assume that I should have been shipped the internal ones. Are there more than one type front wheel assy for a 1973 K5?

Fred

There are only 2 different types...internal and external for the 73.....internal and external.

Here is a pic of my old external hub with a full time flange on it...

its about the size of a softball....I don't have a pic of the internal hub, but its A LOT smaller, about the size of a baseball and is splined on the inside of the hub.

OK I've got the internal one

I'll just take the External ones back and swap'em for internal ones

Good deal, thanks a ton for the help.

Fred

Cant take em back

They came with the NP203 conversion.

Anyone want to buy a nice set of Mile Marker locking hubs.
