Mileage with a 6.2 diesel with banks turbo **update**

I have a chance to buy an 86 burb thats stock except for larger tires and a banks turbo kit on the 6.2. I was planning on gettin a later model truck like a 96 or so with a 6.5 TD, but I can get this burb for $500 and it appears to be in excellent condition. My only questions are will it pull a blazer and what kind of mileage can I expect out of it.

See down below, now that I actually got to drive it and mess with it for a few days.

And if you dont want the banks turbo, I'll take it off your hands.

The Banks 6.2 turbo kit put on more than the 6.5TD stock did. Depending on gearing, you could get anywhere from 16-25mpg, and how heavy your foot is.

It will pull a blazer, without too much problems.
And if your unhappy with it, you let me know, and I'll take it off your hands!

Hmmm, I may have to just throw my blazer up on the trailer and see how it tows it. I may have to swap in an NV4500 into it cause I want OD and a manual tranny but we will see.

I towed mine, It was ok. You do notice the weight, but its not unbearable with a NV4500. First gear helps a lot. Plus you got the turbo which I dont have.

I get 15.5 with my crewcab.

I shoulda said " I got 22 mpg at 60mph, and 16-17mpg at 75."

Well Im gonna go drive this thing tomorrow. Hopefully it runs ok, it looks like an old man owned it and towed with it. If I get it I might be tempted to lift since I have a 4" lift kit sitting here that I took of my blazer when I built my new suspension.

Well ive got to drive it, it freakin hauls ass, and makes about 9 PSI of boost according the gauge it has. I dont know how accurate it is. The tranny is also making noise, but thats ok since T-400's are easy to rebuild. But the kicker is is that its missing its t-case and front driveshaft, now keep in mind its a K2 vin, and it smokes really bad and sounds like it has a rod knock, BUT I think the knock is injector knock, hense the bad smoking problem. So this weekend im gonna mess with it, and see if I can narrow it down to one cylinder and im going to replace that injector. Hell I work on Duramax's, this one looks easy.
