military axles

im not sure whether or not this is a good buy....i know a guy who races mudtrucks throughout florida and south carolina. hes a good friend and he has offered me a set of military axles for $1000 front and rear. Not sure about the exact specs but they have like a 6.30 something gear ratios in them. I have a k5 and am thinking about it. i also need to ask him about the lockers. not sure??? need some input.

if there from a cucv, they have 4.56 gears and a locked rear. some have a ls in the front.
