Guys what is the defferent between cucv m1008 , m1028 and k30??

Do a search.

Basically Detroit Locker and camouflage paint are the biggest factors.

m1008: 6.2L non turboed Diesel with "j" code intake (I think), th400 tranny, np208 Tcase. Rear 14bolt Full Float, Front Dana 60, geared 4.56 with a detroit in the rear. Has a hybrid 12v/24v electrical system. Basically 24v for the starter, 12 for everything else i think..

M1028: Same as above with extra leaf springs in the rear and a limited slip in the dana 60, believe its clutch driven?

M1009, Same diesel, tranny and t case. Axles are 10 bolts i believe, geared 3.08 and has a gov bomb limited slip in the rear..

Civy K30... well that comes with a ton of different options.

Yes clutch driven, and needs special 'limited slip oil' for the frt diff.
Also, M1028 usually gear drive np205 transfer case for provision for pto accessories.

M1010 - Ambulance (NP208)

M1031 - Contact Maintenance body with NP205 and PTO driven generator set

I've seen a lot of 1028s with NP208.

Some 1028s have a pickup bed.

Some have a maintenance body similar to the 1031, but if they are equiped with a 208 transfer case (no PTO provision), the generator will be driven by a little 4 cyl gasoline engine.

Ok other question now! I bought front dana 60! But i dont know which truck for 1008 or 1028 ! My question is how should i know if its open or trac lock limited slip? 4.56

that is open diff. all the 1028 I've seen have been to a 208 transfer case. I believe it's at 1028a1 that has a 205 transfer case. like was said above. 25 is used for the PTO capability. They are good trucks. I have a few. i like them a lot

OK, I'm no expert! so dont take this as 100% fact...

As far as I know, the regular old 1028s were all NP208, single rear wheel, and had a regular pickup bed. But they had a heavier set of leaf springs, and in the bed, had a set of steel brackets and anchors that support an S250 Communications Shelter. They may or may not have an addition alectrical system to supprt the added radio equipment. I've been told for years that 1028s had a limited slip or something like that in the front diff, but I never opened one up.

So, a 1028 "usually" looks just like a 1008 pickup. If you see a pickup with those brackets in the bed, (and usually missing it's tailgate as well) its most likely a 1028.

check this out, 1028 info.
