How are the two military eye loops mounted to the bumper or frame on the CUCVs? Can this be unbolted and mounted on a civilian K5?

If you get your hands on them, you probably could just grab the bumper as well and bolt it up...

The CUCV bumper that I gave to my brother had them bolted to the bumper...

Are you sure? The cucv bumper look like stock bumpers. Not all that strong for a mount.

If you look close at the last pic you can see the bracket that bolts to the frame.
Hopefully that helps.

The ones I have had are mounted to the bumper and frame, very beefy. Between the front and rear mounts, the vehicle can be lifted with a crane. The trucks have extra frame braces by the shackles too.

The 86 cucv i had had the mounts mounted to the frame, the bumper just had holes to fit around them. Both front and rear were the same. the mounts if i remember right had 2 or 3 nice size bolts in them also was plated both sides. They were used to hook the truck with straps to haul it with the helicopter or to drop out of a plane with a parachute connected....so i was told anyway.

I would like to add these to a 78. Would this be a bolt in provided I cut out the hole in the bumper?

That one you gave me had them mounted on the bumper still...

It's on my brothers Blazer now...
