well i fired up the caddy 500 and had a small leak of water out my front driverside head then i tightend the bolt some more and it stopped but i checked my oil after running it shortly and boom i have a milkshake..so

im gonna pressurize my cooling system after i go to work and get my tool tomorrow but ....

how do you guys flush out the old water contaminated oil?i was thinking of just draining it and change oil and filter and hopefully i might have to do it only once more after running it again a short time but are their any tricks out their? does water sink in oil or float on top?

Well, at least in the drainpan (i.e. outside the motor), oil floats on water. I know this as it makes a bloody mess when it rains if I leave the pan outside =))

Were you running 100% water or was there antifreeze in there as well?

I was thinking some sort of water-dryer like you use for gas ... but in general I fear chemicals in the workings of the engine block ... can't be good for the rings, at the very least, plus anything that gets onto the machined surfaces would be bad.

Karnak The Invincible sees you dropping the oil pan in your future :haha:

I would change the oil now and then again after running it for a short time.

I really doubt your head gaskets will hold if they already leaked.

Straight water I would imagine would simply evaporate out (I'm talking after you drain it!) once the engine got warm enough. Advantage of running stock thermostat. :)

I had a motor that had a ton of rainwater on top of the oil, I simply drained it all out, replaced the filter, and ran it. Never had a problem, bearings looked like new when it was taken apart.
