this is on my new navy van. put about 60 miles on it. checked the oil thats what i found. water and oil mixing?? right or wrong? thanks

well, all looks clean and dry. guess its the head gasket. damn it

Give us some more details like what year, make, model and also what engine size?

Condensation will cause a milky-white condition that you will see when you remove the oil cap. This is cause when a vehicle is not driven enough to heat the engine to the point that any moisture in the crank case evaporates.

its a 92 dodge 3500 1 ton 2wd van with a 5.9 360. when i got it it had new oil in it. its a old navy van with 52k on it. feel like i just wasted 1600 bucks

That i believe is the magnum engine and those heads are VERY prone to cracking. I'll bet you have a cracked head which will put water in the oil.

THose cast heads? You can try a nickle rod and weld the crack. I've never undertaken that kinda task before, but I hear thats how its done. For the cost, you might just look at getting another vehicle though.

how about driving it back and forth for 2 hours on a stretch of highway near your house? i have seen this a number of times in the winter, not just on the oil cap but also in the oil.

one of my friends had some little car (dont remember brand) that had a V6 in it with the same thing. check to see if your loosing coolant from the radiator.

his was just condensation, we flushed the engine and put synthetic in it and it was fine.
