on the crapper...
I've been eyeballing the Millermatic 180, but the best price I can find is about $800 (ebay), the Lincoln Pro-Mig 180 is on sale for $635 at Lowes.

Is the Millermatic with auto set worth the extra coin? They seem pretty equal according to the box at Lowes, am I missing something?

Is the 800 for the miller with the kart and reg, the kit? I love my Miller 180. The auto set to me is useless, I set it like I want. Miller has a really nice spool gun for welding Aluminum for only 200 bucks for it. You have to have different gas of course. One of the main reasons I got the miller. Have not seen one of the new lincolns in a while, but miller has always had better features then the loncolns. Quick change rollers, more friedly features. The lincoln will weld just as good as the miller though.

Both come with regulators etc, but no cart.

The lincoln has a spool gun option too, not sure of the price though. I also realized that the lincoln at lowes does not have infinite voltage adjustment that the miller has. I think the one at lowes is a lincoln SP-180T, the Power Mig 180C would be a better comparison.

I love my Miller 180.. used the hell outta it the last year or so, hasn't batted an eye..

I use the autoset here and there, just depends on what I'm doing.. once you have the machine awhile, you learn when you can just use that and when ya want more finite control...
