I just picked up this today...http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauke...th-Free-M18-Sawzall-2797-22-2620-20/204663042

If you add up all the pieces individually it would cost $725. I just used the sawzall today and it works great. I should get a chance to use the hammer drill at work shortly. The 1/4" hex impact sure has some umph to it at 133 ft lbs torque on the highest of the three settings.

This promo only runs til the end of the month if any of you guys are needing a kit like this. The ad says online only but they had them in stock in the store with the promo listed right on the tools.

I love my m12 stuff from them but its time for some m18 items. The m12 stuff just isnt cutting it in the home reno department.

I love both the m12 and m18 stuff I have now. I'm refusing to click your link for fear I will want to buy more....

Keep in mind guys the old standard Milwaukee stuff isn't anywhere near as good as their new Fuel line-up. The Fuel line-up is all brushless motors, Redlink Plus Intelligence and Red Lithium battery packs.

I just got to use the hammer drill today and that thing rocks. :thumb:

I have the 1/4" impact driver that's one of the Fuel products. Comes in handy at the junkyard pulling parts. I don't know if the m12 stuff is Fuel.

The one I use the most is the 1/2" impact with XC 4.0 red lithium battery. Great for tire changes and seat belt bolts.

I take that back. The one I use THE most is the job site radio, the larger version. That thing kicks ass!

I bought the portaban. Best fab tool everrrr
No loud noises, no sparks, no dust to breathe in.

2" .250 wall like butter. And you can bring it with u anywhere and the guide moves in for flush cuts up to another surface.

But it does cost more than that whole kit...

I have an M12 Fuel 1/4" hex impact. Milwaukee pretty much has a fuel tool for just about everything now.

Yeah theres m12 fuel for the drill and impact driver. I was waiting for that stuff to come out last year before I bought but got sick of them pushing the release date back and bought regular stuff...

It's all about the V28 stuff............The old American made V28. Screw all the new Chinese crap.

They have some decent tools, but AFAIK, it is all made in china now. I have had my V28 kit since they came out. I did buy two new batteries and replaced the motor in the V28 hammer drill. I used that stuff everyday for doing construction work for 8 years and I still have it. I got out of the business, so now I use it at home and for friends or family only. I really like the older US made corded Milwaukee tools too. I have a 5" variable speed angle grinder. It is rated at 13 amps I think. It was the most powerful small grinder they made.

My brother bought some of the new milwaukee impact drivers and had one fail in a day. They were driving 3" deck screws while building a 1,000 foot board walk to be installed next to the Del Mar Horse track in SoCal. The other one is still going as far as I know. I had coworkers that had issues with the chinese stuff too. It just doesn't work the same as the American stuff, but all the tool companies have headed in this direction, so it is a matter of choosing the lesser of the evils. My drywall screw gun is a Hilti, but I wasn't a fan of their cordless tools and the price was much higher than the Milwaukee tools I had bought.

I was in the homo depot on the last day of the sale to get some stuff. They had one of the kits left, with no coupon in sight.
But I found one of the coupons laying on the floor, so figured what the heck?

Got it all home, and I have to say I am a little disappointed.
Not by the tools, they are typical Milwaukee. Strong as all getout and tough.

But the company seems to have strayed from one of the things I always liked about them.
When you bought one of their tools, you were buying a permanent investment. I have some of their tools from a decade ago, and you can still get parts.
Not with the newest stuff it seems.

I have several of their 18 volt cordless tools. A few years back, they came out with a kit that replaced the 18 volt NiCad batteries with lithium ones. Plus a charger that would charge either the NiCad or the lithium.

I bought the kit plus a couple more lithium batteries. They fit my old NiCad tools and worked even better.
Now, I open the box on the new tools, to discover that the Fuel batteries and charger are completely incompatible with my older tools!

What the heck? Now I am going to have to have two sets of batteries and chargers, plus how long are they going to support the older tools? Now that they are committed to the Fuel type batteries, are they going to stop making the V18s?

The two main reasons I have stuck with one company, Milwaukee, is due to their toughness and so I do not wind up with a bunch of incompatible stuff.

I realize that the new system is much better, but come on, 18 volts is 18 volts. How hard would it have been to just modify the older style battery case and keep the same connector?

I see that the old style had three connections and the new ones have four. With lithium you always need an extra connection to monitor the charging and condition of the batteries, thus the three.
Without taking a new pack apart, I'm not sure what the extra connector is for. Its possible that the batteries are in two banks with a common connection plus one for monitoring.

Either way, I would think that something could have been done. Maybe the fourth terminal could have been off to the side so that it only came into play on the new tools and charger. Or maybe two sets of connections back to back. One three for older tools, and the four for the newer and charging.

Either way, its disappointing from a company I had come to depend on for all these years.

Im pretty sure the FUEL and new line of batteries is backwards compatible with the last generation of their m12/m18 stuff. Im talking the stuff that was ergonomically the same design just older battery/motor.
