Mini leaf spring pack

I have 52's stock new from 85 blazer on the front of my 98. Cheap pro comp shocks that had been kicking around the shop for years. Streets great. Rides better than my son's new truck. Passed a slow car last night and had it up to 85 changing lanes.

I need to get a video, some type of maneuvering course.

How many leafs are in the pack and did you remove any leafs? I wonder how the weight from a k5 and a Silverado differ.

Wait, more like a 5" lift. It bolts to fame, not body LOL
If I did it again, I would use something longer for the links. Maybe another 3" longer.

Looking at the picture I wouldn't make the links even an inch longer.
They would hang on everything.
Now they are flush with the driveshaft.
If anything you could move the mount on the tubes a bit higher to get the bushings more aligned.

Pretty sure they are a 5+1 leaf pack. Didn't remove any. Stock rear springs from a 1985 blazer. I don't think the front end weight varies to much degree comparing apples to apples. If it had a big block, winch or diesel, huge bumper, Maybe id want a slightly heavier spring.

How much would a A-bomb number built like the one James merrick has on his k5 affect a set of 52s? I know he had 52s on the front of his but if I remember reading right, somewhere he said he removed a leaf.

That "Moab" bumper isn't that terrible heavy by itself.

Ok I've been searching for Chevy 52" leaf packs and I came across one that's suppose to be heavy duty, it has 9 leafs in the pack (8/1). Anyone know what these came off of? Would it be wise to start with something like this and take out leafs? Im thinking it will still be a soft ride but with the added leafs it might make it a little more stable on the street.
Does a stiffer rear leaf pack help with stability?

make sure you ask the seller how they measured the pack, you might be surprised how many people measure them wrong (should be eye to eye following the arch).

If the 56s are for the rear, look up a late 80s or even 90/1 suburban with tow package. Should be 7+1. I'd get those.
