Howdy everyone.
I'm about to get into my Suburban for some relatively minor work before EJS: swapping in some new axles, H1's, and some seats maybe..
I've got a '91 Suburban with a 350 and 4L80E, currently has a 4" Skyjacker lift from the PO with blocks in the back, a 44 (!) and 14bolt, haven't checked the gears but given what a dog this is around town, I suspect 3.73's.
Plans call for a couple expensive boxes to be delivered, from ORD, DIY, and Trail Worthy:
ORD:
Pitman arm, steering box brace, shackle flip, crossover arm
DIY:
their version of the FUSH, UDSR shackles, disc brackets, some bolts and heavy washers
TrailWorthy Fab:
H1 O-rings, PVC inserts, pilot washers, valve stems.
also grabbing a draglink and 2wd box from a local, a PSC pump from a friend, and a new tie-rod from Summit Machine.
The front 60 will be pirated from my dually project and regeared with 4.88's and a Spartan, and run Summit 35spl flanges, while the rear will be a snazzy, sexy Torq Super14, with a Detroit.
Interior may get a set of buckets, bench seats suck and mine is super beat.
This Burb is being set up to be more of a burly expedition/trail rig for the family. I had a Blazer forever, which I loved but it is a big, wide rig, and I was unhappy with the compromises I would have had to make-- yes, you can cut them all up, but... I decided to get a Burb, and also start work on a small buggy for the harder stuff.
anyway, that's the plan. Pics to follow. I'm currently in Vernal watching a drilling rig, so no work yet.
