Well my carb has decided it wants to do something different. lol

ITs a holley 570 street avenger. Its been on my truck for 5-6 months now with no issues. Here is what it is doing. I will drive like normal and when I come to a stop, the RPMs will hang around 1000rpms, if I just tap the throttle itll come down to 600-700rpms where I have it set. It doesnt matter if the truck is good and warmed up or not.

The only factor that I can see changing is, I had the return spring doubled up and I took one of the springs out to try and lighten up the gas peddle so Im not having to push as hard, but I cant see how the return spring would effect the rpms in this manner.

So, should I look at the CURB IDLE adjustment or CHOKE adjustment? Nothing else has been touched in my truck other than the return spring. Since going with a single spring didnt help at all, I was just thinking of going back to a double cuz it was working with this setup b4

anyways, just checking to see if there is anything else to look for. Just an annoying problem for my RPMs to be hanging like that.

I'd try putting that spring back and see if it goes away. Todays holleys tend to rust in certain places, like butteryfly shafts, and it just may be a little sticky.
If it goes away when you put the spring back, either try to lube up the butterfly shaft and/or find a spring just barely big enough to pull that thing all the way back to the idle screw.

x2 i had to lube my holley and add a stiffer return spring and now it works perfect and i like a harder throttle petal anyways

Thanks. Thats what I Figured. Always look at the last thing that was touched when things get fudged up. lol.

I just ordered 2 new return springs and I think ill put some drops of oil on the pivot points on butterfly of the carb as well.
