Mirror brace brackets

I have no idea if they fit other styles since the catalog lists 73-91 but those look like brackets that are on the 90-91 sport power mirrors. They fit in between the walls of the door shell, attached to a mirror bolt and then bolts to the inner wall of the door (covered by the trim panel).

Which mirror bolt does it connect to?
One side of the bracket has a long right angle and the other has slightly less of a bend and is twisted (kinda hard to explain), do you know which side attaches to the mirror and which attaches to the door?

I've been playing around and trying different ways, found a couple possibilities, but want to make sure.

I'm sorry but i don't remember. I'll see if I have any old pics that show.

I don’t remember either, but I’d think that it would be best to have it bolt to the rearmost upper bolt on the mirror. That way any impact that collapses the mirror will be supported by the brace and help prevent the door from being dented. Just make sure it doesn’t interfere with the operation of the window innards.

Looks like my assumption was wrong. According to this diagram it goes on the lower bolt. The upper two bolts for the mirror have a reinforcement plate that attaches to window vent assembly.
