Is anyone running the smaller side mirror on their Blazer? I’m just finishing the body work on my K5 and its decision time as to which holes I need to fill.

Obviously they’re a little smaller. Any pics and or pros/cons from anywhere e who’s run them?

Thanks!

I so badly want to retrofit (cleanly) some of the new Chevy mirrors that mount to the door. They are just too damn expensive right now for me to try.

Agree, dropped trucks could go smaller. But I also have a million other cars on the road with me and mirrors are important.

My K10 has them (formerly a C10) and my only complaint is the lack of visibility. Otherwise, I think they look good on the truck.

My old '80 K10 had those little "sport" mirrors and I agree that they were too small for a big bodied truck. I prefer the "dumbo" style mirrors (or the factory power sport mirrors :D ).

Another vote for not going with the small mirrors - my old K-5 came with them and the visibility was no where near as good as the bigger ones.
And as others have said - the small ones just don’t give a proper look to a 4WD.

Can remember their unless and poor visibility from when they were new..... Unless cheap junk.

Their rare, but GM had a power window option on the Suburban. . . Saw a set in a parts truck eons back.

For a weekend cruiser, I've never felt the need to go with a larger mirror.

Pretty sure you mean power mirrors. They were optional on 90 and 91 for Blazer/Jimmy/Sub. I don't know if they came on the 1-ton. The door skin is a little different to accommodate the controls for them, but I know lots of people have retrofitted them.

Sure appreciate everyone’s input and the pic of that sweet C10.
I used to have a 69 F100 and it had the small mirrors. As a young person, I think the combined youth and ease of looking over my shoulder (in a truck) made it seem like it was the right fit. I do like the look.
While doing the bodywork on the Blazer, I don’t currently have a passenger mirror on. The other day I damn near ran over a Tesla on the right hand side Lol. While some would say, no big loss , it did occur to me that having a nice size mirror back on there will probably protect my arse in the future.
The short story is; I realized I’m too damn old to be safe with a small mirror!

I put some JC Whitney 80's mirrors on my '74, can't imaging having something smaller. I can barely back the damn thing up without the cameras I've become so used to.

I have them on my '74. They are a pain to adjust so you can see them. But once you have them setup just right. It's not horrible.

I think they look more better. But definitely less useful
