I've got a problem withmy 97 z71. The engine has a miss on #2 cylinder. I have changed the plug out and replaced the plug wires. the distributer and rotor look fine. I still cant get the miss out. The only code that its giving out is #2 misfire. Anybody got any ideas?

For the cost, don't just replace that plug. I'd do all the plugs, and cap and rotor.

Probably due for them anyways. I would be suspect of the cap/rotor if you already changed the plug wires.

vortec motors = ac delco plugs only. or will skip under load.

and huge problems with injector spiders. you might have a bad spider setup in the intake. search this topic tons of info out there. hope this helps.

Replaced the plug wires with new ones all the way around today. found a water leak on the drivers side intake gasket above #1 cylinder. I don't think its related but it solves the water loss problem i was going to have to fix next.I put it in the basement with the '71 for the night. Man I miss working on the blazer! Going to remove the intake tomorrow. I've never been into the truck this far before. Iny suggestions? what about the spiders I've never seen them before.

well both intake gaskets were shot. I got it back together last night. I can actually hear the air going through the air cleaner now. The oil pressure at idle went from 40 to around 70psi. The timing is still a little off but I cant wait to drive it. Its got to run better than the oil burning steam engine it use to be.
