Mmmm....781 Heads w/Big Valves - Greg72's 496BBC Build Thread

Cool follow up.

That engine is going to have ?6,000? miles on it already without firing! LOL

Actually, since i've built this engine it will have traveled about 6800 miles and not used a drop of fuel. :D

There aren't many engine builders who can build THAT much power with such terrific fuel economy..... Better than a Prius that the greenies love so much! :D

:usaflag:

Just get ahold of the driver and tell him to stop by Wes's place so he can drool over what he could have had. :haha:
And while the driver is here, I'll slip him a tip and we'll put something else in place of the motor.

Like an old used 350. :D

I have been sandbaggin' this thread for some time now, in hopes that I'd have exhaust done before I posted up. Well, it just hasn't happened yet, but I wanted to get a couple of vids up to give a HUGE thanks to Scott and Greg.

Between Scott's awesome build skills and Greg's wallet, they built this engine and it's pretty insane, to say the least.

I think the vids speak for themselves.

Priming the block.

The longer start up vid..

A couple of revs from this weekend when I got the front put back together.

Again, thanks go out to both of you on this. A special thanks to Greg, for letting me buy it and install it in my '69.. I do believe that it will work out pretty well in there..:D

Thanks for the props, glad you're happy with it. The engine does sound nice and crisp. Someday i'd love to hear it in person and go for a ride. :thumb:

When I get finished, I know that I'll be down for a bay trip. I'll pick ya up and we'll go for some pizza. :thumb:

Sweet, Greg can attest that I do like my pizza and there's a real good pizza joint here in town that a friend of mine owns. A ride in that beast would be cool as well. :thumb:
