MNorby's Goat - Ibex build

Found a few limits of the buggy yesterday

Found a rear shock that was acting up and allowing the pass side to only droop 12". Got it fixed but think that might have attributed to some of the wheel up antics from that last video.

Spent a week wheeling in Moab during EJS. Ran Pritchett, Hells, Metal Masher, Rusty Nail, and Helldorado, Drop Kick/Blackout at Area BFE and Potato Salad, Fins, Moab Rim, and Cliffhanger at night. Our group did real good with very little mechanical issues to slow us down. I have a ton of footage to mess with but for now here is Poison Spyder's video from Helldoardo at the Crawl Readers Ride. Got a clip of the buggy at the 1:00 and 2:23. Everyone in our group made the waterfall, a few opted for the safety of a manstrap which you can see me eating it and running when the 4 door JK of Anthony's crested over. I had picked up a Ram mount for my GoPro from CrawlTunes before the trip and that is by far the best way to mount and aim a GoPro on a rig. After a week of wheeling solo I ordered up a sound system from him as well. Overall the buggy worked great and drove every obstacle, love the new tires. I ran them between 10-12 psi all week.

I just picked up a GoPro for my birthday. Any tips on video settings or other thoughts? Mine is just a Hero3 White.

I really like the Ram mount I got from Derek at CrawlTunes. Allows you to aim it so much better that the little right angle adapters that come with the GoPro. Tell him I sent ya, he has asked to use some of my footage for demonstration. I typically record in 720, 60fps, wide angle (not the super wide). I plan on getting the smart remote so I can strap it to my steering wheel and control it easier, especially when it's mounted in a unique spot.

Actually Derek is a really good customer of ours. [emoji3] I do have a Ram mount I'm planning to use. I like the perspective/angle yours is mounted, but I don't think that spot will work on a full-body rig.

Do you record the whole time or start and stop it I would assume? I'm planning to control it with my phone but the remote on the steering wheel is a good idea.

I was wondering if the sun beating down on it had any ill effects? Also how does the battery tend to last?

Sun doesn't seem too bother. I have 3 batteries total. Definitely pick up spare batteries and multi battery charger off Amazon. I think I will prefer the remote so I don't have to fiddle with my phone all the time. With it mounted on my B pillar like those video I can easily reach it to turn on and off at good obstacles.

Here is a quick time lapse I took up the Gemini Bridges Rd. Thought would be cool to time lapse a trail between obstacle then regular video of the obstacles. That is where the smart remote would be nice to be able to change back and forth quickly and on the fly.

Cool videos Matt....do you have an exhaust brake on the tow rig?

I have an exhaust brake on my 01 Dodge that I am trying to sell. That is a friends new truck so figured try out the mega cab and hauling both his and my rigs.

I was thinking of selling the 43s when I was first shopping for new tires after buying the trailready beadlocks. After buying stickies though I decided to keep the 43s for snow wheeling and general mild mountain trail wheeling to save the stickies for the good rocks.

Oh, I guess I didn't catch that those were stickies. I 100% agree with that decision. Try and make those stickies last as long as possible. Love this rig dude. Maybe you should come down to CO this year sometime and wheel with ssyork and I....once he gets that yota done obviously :thumb:
