It's really hard to say, I sold majority of the sonoma and those rockwells and parts and bought the chassis and atlas and stuff. Kept my tires/wheels and a lot of my axle and steering components from the sonoma. I'd say if you had nothing and needed to buy axles, tires, drivetrain, chassis, etc and you watched for deals like I try to in the classifieds and whatnot there is about $15-25k there. Granted you could save money by running a junkyard 205 vs an atlas or a tbi/propane 350 vs a LS engine too. I did get the exhaust done last weekend and hoping to get the oil accumulator, remote fuel filler, and some catch cans installed this weekend. Switch panel should be done this week from 12voltguy too. Hoping to get all the stuff that needs to be welded to the chassis on soon so I can take apart and paint before it starts getting colder out, can only get the 80x120 shop so warm when its 0 out...

actually... I have my entire truggy as a donor that the complete drivetrain would come from... then I could sell the frame/cage to offset some cost....
will the ibex take a big block, T400 and doubler ?
Or is it only made to fit small blocks without a doubler ??
Sounds like your in the same boat I was selling/parting off rig to fund the new chassis. The bbc might be an issue. Sell it and pickup an LS engine, I'm betting seat of the pants this new rig will feel more power after loosing 100 horse from my old bbc because of loosing 2000 pounds of weight. Here you can pickup a 5.3 all day for $500 then another $400 for tune/harness work and away you go. There is a guy on pirate building one with a doubler and I think Drew even modeled one in it at one point on his thread on them.

I bought most my large goatbuilt items through battlement fab in colorado. He was cheaper that the MSRP price on goatbuilt.com but it also took a little extra time on parts ordered from him since they had to transfer funds or something. He has also sponsored blazer bash in the past too and I try to support those guys when I can. Watch the holidays too, seems like last year Drew had a 10% off and free shipping (was like $300 for mine) deal at one point.

Got the seat heaters installed in my seats and the harnesses and all mounted to seat frames that all bolt in as an assembly. These are the correct seat colors/options. It took PRP a few tries to get everything the way there were supposed to be with colors and options I added. Also mounted fuel filler neck and fire extinguisher mount from DIY4x. Was planning on mounting a second one on the other side in the same spot but also got to playing with one in the cab and came up with the idea of under the dash, how bad of an idea is it to put one there? The oh-**** handle is symmetrical to the steering column too and I could put one on both sides too.

yeah, once I paint and reassemble Ill use all the holes with stainless hardware.
Also drove through some car lots today looking for a chevy colorado grill to measure but none around here but did see a gmc terrain grill that has the right shape. here is a photoshop to near scale.

Probably a fine idea to put the extinguisher there. There is going to be a flaw no matter where you choose.
Got switch panel installed from 12voltguy and also made new brackets for accumulator to get away from muffler a few more inches. Also installed atlas support from TMR and a driveshaft safety hoop on the rear in case I ever decide to race our local stuff.

started messing with a hood. Salvage yard gave me a damaged hood and grille off a rolled 03 chevy tha tI was hoping to cut down to fit. The body lines were the same width and angle as the perimeter hood tubes on the chassis but by the time I got it down to fit it didn't fit as well as I had anticipated and I am by no means a body guy so no chance of making it fit either. The grill was also too wide to fit very good even after trimming a bunch. Maybe a Chevy Colordao grille would have worked better. Decided to just build my own to follow the chassis lines and keep as low as possible for optimum visibility. Needed a cowl to clear the intake manifold so made that so it the same width and angle as the windshield bars and so the are level (front is lower from hood plain than the rear of the cowl) so it flows better with the angled up hood line. Now to decide whether to make it fold forward or back. If back I'll have to make tall hinge tabs so cowl doesn't get into windshield bars.
Few little things this week, got hood hinges and pins done. Had to make hinges tall so cowl didn't interfere with windshield bars. Set it so 1/8" gap between hood and chassis to try to keep it from rubbing/rattling. Hood will ultimately get skinned with same aluminum panels as sides. Also some gussets in the front chassis for mini marker lights for street legality. Cutting brake installed too, trying to find a good spot that allowed for full range of use. Its just behind shifter in 2nd gear and 3rd gear kicks over next to cutting brake knobs.
