I've never been out to Moab and I've been dying to get out there. I'll be in my recently acquired 91 6.2l 2500 suburban :woot: with a car full of kids ranging in age from 1 year to 10 years old. The idea is to spend 3 days/2 nights out there camping. The suburban has 33" tires and a small lift and that's about it.

I'm looking for trails on the more mild side, great views, great fun, small hikes or areas for the kids to climb around, etc. If you were in my shoes, what trails would be your top priority? Where would you camp? I'm starting from scratch and trying to put together an itinerary in a hurry.

I assume you are wheeling with just one vehicle? Driving there and back.

Trail near town. Hells Revenge, buy the moab trails book and follow it.
North and out of town a little. Hey Joe canyon. Nice thing about it is scenic, the rafters use it so if you brake, there will be other vehicles comming through.
You could also spend a day at Arches NP.
East of town a ways is Top of the World.
So many more.

What's the big deal :dunno: I read a bunch, and usually don't have anything worthwhile to add to the conversation that hasn't already been said. The site sure has saved my bacon on more than one occasion though.

The White Rim Trail looks beautiful, but everything out there looks pretty awesome--it seems like you can't miss. We'll drive out there in a newer Yukon XL and my '91, so if we have a catastrophic failure, we aren't totally stuck in the area, but the plan is to have the '91 be the only one on the trails.
