Anyone here modded a floor shifter into their factory column automatic? My old horseshoe shifter from my Buick keeps winkin' at me ....or maybe it's just the dirty chrome....

I would think the smartest way to do it would be just hook it up the way it was done in the car.. and eliminate the column all together and stick a manual one in..

I had to read it a couple times to myself.... ;)

obviously the one major consideration is car vs truck seat height.... incorporated into some custom console could be cool... and at least original as he!! compared to the B&M's, art carrs, etc..

heck, if I had one of my old slapstick shifters from my mopar days..... :haha:

Could always go with one of these...

Wow cool!!! And it even has that old GM muscle car look!

Oh I have some wild ideas for console and seat mods. Here's hoping I can make the ideas work in reality:rolleyes:

Check the rest of the Kilduff site, they have all sorts of console shifter stuff and many other cool shifters.

I'm kinda stuck on the shifter from my favorite Skylark (my first true love) I've been hauling it around since 85. I do know I'll either be buying or rigging the plate for my 700r4. I need to research shifter cables, etc and see what my budget allows. This all began when I ran across a tilt column in cherry condition but no column shift. Somehow in all the wrenching I've done over the years I never got into changing shifters so it's new to me. I'll be using my newest obsessive discovery- Azek- to wrap a custom console to go along with all the other Azek stuff I want to do.
