I would like to know what everyone is swapping in for I'm running a 84 K5. I'm not intrested in import seats (i'm a big guy) I had a 93ish 60/40 bench in my 85 K3500, swapped in real nice. I think I would prefer something out of a fullsize truck. Buckets or a fold down bench( console). I like my seat in my 98Z71...its a fold down bench with lumbar support and all that funky stuff, but it looks like it will take lots of fabbing and brackets to make it work right. Just looking for a sharp, factory looking, confortable seat.

I might not have really stretched my imagination on this swap but I installed a complete interior from a 90 SLE Jimmy in my 81 Jimmy. I didn't put everything in yet, mostly because I still have to swap my rear half of the tub, but I have the front and rear seats, dash, door panels, etc.

-ere's what I run. Flofit seats from Seat Source in Riverside, CA (he carries all the major brands and has the best prices - 909-343-9430). Came with lumbar pump, thigh support extension, nice headrests, wonderful side support, etc. Cost about $800 with the bolt in floor brackets. Easy install, used the factory mounting holes.

while those tahoe seats are nice they are missing something. leather. try these on for size. cost me $450 with the console. they came out of a '98 suburban. driver's seat has 6-way power and lumbar. i have heard that '99 or '00 seats also have heat. that would be nice. the pics are at the address below.

i just got the same seats and console just like 90k5 for my 75. one thing i wish it did have are those cool beer holders for the drive and front passenger. the console has it for the rear but that doesnt do me anygood.

Ok so I know where to order the flofits from, but where on earth can i get the newer (around99-01)tahoe/sub seats? Dealership, junkyard or what?

Take a stroll through the guy-mall, er, junkyard!

Some dealers have a conversion center (Regency, etc.). Just go up to someone in there and ask them about some pull outs from a Sub, Tahoe or Silverdao and I'm sure you will get some.

You know I thought of a question for you guys that have done the conversions. Hopefully you can remember how much space is under the seats. THere is quite a bit, enough to mount good sized amps underneath. Is there enough room underneath with the flofits and tahoe/sub seats? That is a big must for me.

ALWAYS BUMPIN!

I have a Pioneer 6 disc changer under my passenger seat, and i could probably fit a 12 disc, but the driver's seat is power, and there is hardly any room under it.

Amps under the seats will get wet if you like to play in serious mud or deep creek crossings. It's a bummer to see the water seeping under the doors.

I have my amp mounted in the rear sidewall.
