Just re-read my build thread from my last project. Saw a few things looking back that I'm not as excited about as I was when I put them in.

Any one else with similar instances?
what did you do, and how did you correct it, if you did, or how would you in the future.

My example.

Sliders I put on my long bed. the idea was to find a way to keep the saddle tanks.

The final result.

My biggest issue with these is that I cut some corners trying to use steel I already had, and trying to use only the tools that I had (namely a harbor freight bender that I couldn't get to work the way I wanted.)

trying to think of a way to re-do these in the future and still keep the saddle tanks, I don't know how to yet, but I know once I get back under the truck i'll think of something, and i'll be able to buy the material to do it right, since I have nothing that I'm starting with this go round.

anyways, post up your first attempts and fixes and any reasoning behind it.

Don't let Greg see this thread....it will end up like a Ryoken novel. Lol :D

52" front springs. Ugh. Made the truck undriveable above 20MPH, she'd bounce like a bucking ... Blazer :surepal:

After much fiddling, went back to stock-length springs, the ORD custom packs. Now drives at highway speeds.

Agreed to that. When I had 52s on my k5 I was not impressed with on road manners.

Crappy shocks and welded rear diff.. Wished I would have ponied up for bilsteins from ord and a locker.. Detroit is a much better compromise (had one in my old truck)

Mine don't bother me. It's no Corvette, but it wasn't when it was bone stock either. I think it has a lot to do with the pack that you use?

Has everything to do with what pack you use. I have 3 different trucks with 52's and never had any bad on road manners, any worse than any other lifted truck I've had.

I hated the welded rear diff on road but didn't mind it much on the dedicated wheeler. Once in a while it'd cause the rig to push but majority of the time it was fine.

Add me in for another person that was meh about a 52in front spring swap. It road like a cadillac, flexed great, but corners... Just forget it. Needed a currie anti rock bar.
