I needed to cut my floor boards so I could clock my transfer,I made it big enough to use just about any trans/transfer combo flat!

I will get some more pictures with it put back together when the Herculiner dries.

Now how about some side "profile" shots to show the underbelly clearance.....

There has to be a reason why you went to all that trouble! :deal:

:usaflag:

looks very good, i need to do this same thing on my k20, mine has a big hole still from last year.

my guess on the access hole it to get to the shifter linkage without removing a driveline or crossmember from underneath.

I dont have a transfer in yet but plan on using a 4L80/LoMax 205 thats clocked up in the future. For now I am using a TH400/Dodge 241 thats clocked,it still will hang below the frame alittle.
Was not really that hard to do, just some sheetmetal and welding, the access hole was an after thought to adjust shift levers.I made the box plenty big because it was the same amount of work anyways.

I will get some more picture later when the case is in.

Do you have any pics taken from the 2nd row seating soI can get a reference?

I dont have any pics from that angle,I can get some measurements if you want.

I used 241 and 205 bare cases to fiqure out where to cut then added a couple inches on both sides.

I will get a pic from underneath before I put the transfer in.

This has snowballed into quite a project,I started out planning on replacing my leaky exhaust and swapping in a Dodge 241.But since I had the sawsall out:rolleyes:

Now it has a 23" Lokar,Kurts motor mounts enroute, and will have 3" dual exhaust...... someday!

Couple more pics

Did you weld nuts on the bottom side and are those t-nuts?

I really like how it looks from the bottom as well as the top.

I tell you what, I really did not want to cut my floor up for flipping my doublers, but that looks great and I am thinking about making my complete Tunnel removeable, vis t-nuts......pretty cool!

Yes,I used t nuts on the access cover.
I almost did something like your thinking,I went to a local metal shop and bought a piece of 14gauge that was bent like channel iron with 10" sides about 2ft across and 4ft long.It was something they bent wrong for a customer and got it cheap,I laid it over the tunnel and thought about it for awhile before reality set in!
I dont use a doubler so I didnt need all that clearance,it would look cool and different though. You could weld it in and just have a couple big access covers where needed......wheres my :hack: theres been a revision:laugh:

how do you clock the trans case? i know with mine it bolts onto the back of my sm465 a certain way. what about drive line angles? wouldnt that make it harder on the front driveshaft?
