Thinking of buying mog portal axles for my burb. And 404 axles seems to be the most common.
Is this the best choice for a burb on 47" ltb's?
The Guy I'm buying from can get any mog axle 402/404/406 and so on.
Tried searching the forums, but my "smart" phone does not comply.

My main wheeling friend has been running 404s under a '77 Bronco for years. He has 20" of clearance under the axles w/ 42" Irocs. He's never had a problem breaking anything. The biggest thing to overcome is axle wrap. You get a lot more of it w/ Mogs on a leaf sprung rig. You also need to get the housing modified where the torque tubes attach.

He's building a new crawler out of an early box Bronco. This one will have 406s and a full linked suspension.

I may be still drunk from last night, but I swear Greg72 has a build thread on them, check that out.

Step 1: win lottery
Step 2: buy Mog axles and begin integration process into Chevy product.
Step 3: question your own sanity...

Mogs are super cool, but its a long, difficult road. I'll help you as much as I can if you are serious about the swap.... :waytogo:

My brother has a unimog with 404's and 39.5 Iroks and we don't have any issues, but if I was gonna build a rig with mogs, I'd go 406/416's, especially if it was a heavy rig with 47's :thumb:
