Saweet! I love monster trucks....big tires and big HP! You can't go wrong it's the American Dream......lol

Are you gonna be at the Monster Jam event in Anaheim here in socal? I'm debating whether to go to that one or not still

Bumping this one...hoping for new updates.

S.O.B. thats cool....and looks like bigtime funnernhell.

My girl firend picks on me because I still wanna go to Monster Truck shows...:( How old are you? You don't have like a 20 year old daughter who needs a nice honest guy that likes monter trucks do ya?:D Can you explain planetaries? Is it like another gear reduction at the hub? And allows for 4 wheel steer or what?

Planetaries is a term for the hub assembly which has a sun gear (in the middle) and either 3 or 4 gears surrounding it, hence the name "planetaries". This allows gear reduction at the hub rather than the ring and pinion. It also takes off a lot of stress off the hubs, too, whereas running a straight 1.1:0 ratio at the hub will mean more stress and that translates to shaft breakage.

Cool... anyone ever designed smaller planetaries for like a 14bolt and D60? If not, why? And if not, I call dibs on the patent!:D

No, the planetary hub is HUGE. The ones used in monster trucks won't even fit inside the 15" tires, nor 16", etc. They are big.

That is way cool. So is this what you do for a living? Or is this a off work passion thing.

Just curious, I would imagine it would be great 9-5 job....lol
