i had the same thing with fedex last week, i ordered some steps from cali and i got the trckingnumber but it wasnt tracked 
i called the next day and they said they were in route and still no trcking info, so i finally called due date and they said they were lost i called smittybuilt and they sent out another pair and guess what same s$*# happened.. but i got my money back.
