the upper rear bracket doesn't line up (#6)...I think it's because it's a J code intake...I dunno. But I have only the front bracket providing any support...

I have 2 exhaust manifold bolts missing where the bracket I need mounts...it was all hanging by a thread when I got the truck so I never noticed...

o.k., here's the deal: they used long compressors until about the mid 80s...then they went to a shorter compressor. so there are 2 styles of rear brackets available...


I have a short compressor with the rear brackets for a long unit...


and I had all intentions of having ac this weekend...


took the Bride out to dinner last night, front tire went flat as I pulled into the parking lot...so we had a nice dinner, then I went out & changed the tire (manually, no power tools)...had to pull my shirt off as not to mess it up.

got home late, but we danced in the front yard under the moonlight just for grins...

went to bed, tossed & turned all night. Finally got up at 5:30, went out to breakfast & went to work on the truck. Insomnia sucks...been a long day...

I have a 1979-83 parts and illustration catalog and the part number for the support bracket you are looking for is 14033867 with the long compressor. On gmpartseast.com the same support bracket for an 86 k30 is **033867 so it looks like that support bracket was the same for both the long and short compressor.

Looks like the upper bracket that mounted on the intake manifold was the same as well. Part number 14033866.

I have all new compresser, lines, condenser..the works


just have the wrong brackets...

to clarify the problem is this:

the bracket attached to the rear of the comp. in this pic has a longer angled leg than mine. (mine leaves a 2" gap where the adjuster bolt is)

I need the longer bracket and the bottom support for it

Sorry to say but when I checked on that blazer at the pull and pay it was gone. The whole truck not the bracket. I'll keep my eyes opened for those parts.
