Watch for the muzzleflash!
I got the short fixed in the brake lights but now I have no back up lights, that is until I realized they come on when I put it in neutral...:doah: So WTF, it just started doing this any thoughts???

Maybe your backup light switch is misadjusted, and needs moved slightly so that the backup lights switch on in R instead of N.

Yep, try that first. Keep in mind the switch is also the neutral start switch as well. It's on top of the steering column down near the floorboard.

Depending on year it has a different adjustment . On my older stuff it is held on with screws and you loosen and move it . But on my 83 ( just changed one ) the switch is a snap in switch and you just push the non fixed part to adjust it .
