Just looked here and in the garage, and didn't find a whole lot. Want to replace hard top seals on my '88. A few people have said better to buy OEM, and If I could find it for a resonable price (or at all) I would agree...

Anyone have expierience with the ones on ebay for the late model body style? I could buy it and have it on it's way today...

I ordered hard top seals yesterday from www.ClassicParts.com. A couple of the things I ordered were not in stock so it will be about a week before they get here. When I get them, I will try to remember to give you my thoughts on them. I have read alot of threads on these seals and most people have had good things to say about them. They are supposed to be much better than the ones LMC sells.

If these do not work out, I am going to buy some from Soft Seal. They are alot more expensive, but you get what you pay for when it comes to weatherstripping. Sorry, I don't have any experience with the ones on Ebay.

I just got some of the seals in from ClassicParts. They seem like they are good. I have a question though, are you suppossed to glue them on? If so, what type of glue do you use?

That is a good question. I don't know if you are supposed to used adhesive on them or not. If so, you can only use it on one side so the top will still be removeable without tearing the seals (I think???). If I use adhesive, I will use 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive.

Originally I bought mine from LMC..depending on the seal you only glue it to one surface.

I ended up just buying the damn ones off ebay... they don't LOOK bad, but havn't fitted them yet- I will today or tomorrow.
Picked at the factory seals, and ye, they are glued to the fiberglass with black and nasty weatherstrip adhesive:D

Some of the stuff I ordered is on back order, so I have not received my seals yet.

Anybody received and installed their seals yet? Mine is leaking bad in a few places and definitely on the "to do" list now.

Did you use the goop and all that to secure them?

Now I forget - is it a big one piece seal or are their individual seals that go on each "bed rail" and one that goes up between the cab and the top?

There is an individual seal for each bed rail and there are two seals that go between the cap and top. One bolts to the cap and the other bolts to the top.

I am still waiting for my passenger side rail seal to come in from Classic. It is on back order and they can not give me an answer on when it will be in.

I got mine from LMC when I started putting mine back together. I would get mine from Classic parts or Soft Seal now. I had to put some extra piece of rubber seal in the front lower corners because the seals didn't come together and I could see through. If they leak once I will replace them when I get mine done. Just not real happy with the fit, but didn't know any better before I made mine 1st big order to start my rebuild. Learned a lot here from others.

So who is this Soft Seal place? I've seen you guys mention them a few times.

Soffseal and Metro weatherstrip is made really well. You shouldn't have an issue with them.
