Getting it surface ground would take more time than correcting it myself. I can fix it in half an hour and be done. If I were to go with surface grinding, I would have to run around looking for a shop that had one. Pay for it, wait for them to finish it, then go back to get it. I have access to a mill at work, but then I'd have to build some sort of fixture to hole it down.
