Will this affect anything---oiling, wear etc.?

Also, how would you install the screws into the manifold? Drill a slightly smaller hole and then tap?

drill and tap the manifold. I ordered one when i changed an LT1 to a carb and regular distributor. didn't use it because you cant see the numbers once you get the the dist. and gasket in.

I've had one someone gave me sitting in my toolbox for over 25 yr's.. pretty useless IMO...

I would think wear difference, etc would be inconsequential... but I'd guess it'd be some minor % worse than full engagement..
