Most overuse of spray painting a truck

I think the funny image is one of a used car salesman smoking a cigarette and talking on the cell phone while spray painting this with a rattle can....on his smoke break...

Nothing wrong with the truck....just the hasty paint job....maybe you can get away with that on flat finishes...

Nope, there is a pic of overspray on the belt webbing. I think they ran out of masking tape the day they painted that truck.

The rubber spring and/or frame shackle bushings are shot. Very common GM problem. Simply replace them for polyurethane.

now now dont forget also if you add lift springs it makes the eye get closer to the frame. so new upper bushings and longer shackles. :thumb:

Right you are, Ken! :D

Longer shackles are almost a must-have on our rigs. Just get some from ORD with the greasables and call it done.:waytogo:

I think I know how I am going to sell my old POS Blazer now! $6k? Wow. Mine isn't much worse off!

I'm seriously considering on cleaning up my '91 K5 real good and then mask off all the red and white on the exterior of the body and then spray-bombing EVERYTHING under the body and inside the engine bay.

Think it can fetch a pretty coin after that? :deal::deal::deal::deal:

i like it.i would drive the **** out of it.

I'm with you man, so what if theres a little over spray its a super clean cucv with low miles, a lift, beadlocks and 36's and as a plus a 10 yard paint job... i'd wheel the piss out of it...

Yeah, I think I will have to try this experiment next spring ... but I have other things that I have to fix too. Ugh.

Personally I'd charge 6600.00 just to degrease that thing enough for the paint to stick:D

Notice the over spray on the dash bezel I also think the seats were painted.

"TP35"

Must translate to Toilet Paper 35 squares to wipe, right? :doah::D

But it's going to start looking like crap real quick as the paint peels off all of the stuff it shouldn't be on - like the door panels, shock boots, hoses, etc. Most of that stuff probably wasn't prepped right to take paint. Since everything else was thrown together so quickly, how do you know even the paint on the body is going to stay on? To a buyer in the know, this rig was probably worth more before "death by rattle can".
