Does anyone know if the motor mount frame brackets are unique on a K30 or can a guy use a set off of anything else? I took some quick measurements off of a K10 parts frame down the road from me and I'm thinking I could make them fit.

I've converted my 2wd over and just bought The crossmember from ORD. Totally spaced out the brackets being different. I know I'll have to drill new holes to mount the crossmember but I want as much bracing as possible and don't want to hack up a new part.

Sorry truck was a 1990 R3500 that now has a 60 under the front with 52s and crossover

So you have a C30?

@mrk5 has a 2wd CC converted over to 4wd
I was looking through his build and believe he modified his crossmember and brackets. Was wondering if there was another way. I was planning on building my own crossmember but have been way to busy lately. Just bought one instead

From what I understand all engine stands are the same with the 4x4 v8 and 250 crossmember. They could be the same on the 6 cyl 292 just never seen in person.
The actual parts that bolt to the motor for 6 cyl is what changed.

You should be able to use the ord crossmember with a 4x5 v8 set of stands.

That's what I'm hoping for. I'll find time this week to go get the other brackets. The quick measurements I took say they should fit but the holes are different. But hey so have all of them so far. Something @mrk5 seems to know all too well.

Im already going to have the drill out for the crossmember, what's a few more :hack:

The square bodies with a 292 six had the passenger side engine mount frame bracket offset differently than other sixes or V8's..the 292 had the motor mount location on the block in a different spot,and they used a bracket bolted to the frame to support the motor mount ..
The drivers side mount is the same on all engines I'm pretty sure..

I'm not sure if the motor mount frame mounting brackets on a 2wd are the same as or will work on a 4x4..I'm thinking the motor mounts bolt right to the 2wd cross member,but its been so long since I had one,I cant recall exactly how they were arranged,and my book doesn't have a photo of a C series 2wd,only a G and P series van..

I know my '81 G10 van has pedestals welded to the cross member the motor mounts bolt too,without any additional brackets..the pickups may well use the same frame brackets on 2wd and 4x4's..(excepting the 292 passenger side one)..ObijuankK5 is probably right about all the brackets being the same otherwise...292 motor mount bracket.jpg
