motor mount inserts

If you use those, change the trans mount too. I have Energy suspension mounts all around. Very solid as you will feel some road vibrations.
 
Yes, generally a pain in the ass to put into the clamshell. I ordered a set for a customers truck. Just for the cussing I had to do to get a set installed, I returned the energy and got a set of diy4x.
I vote for diy4x poly motor mounts by a long shot. I crossed this bridge 10 or 11 years ago and I am still happy with my diy4x parts.

did you have to poly the trans or not?
 
ok gathering part for when its warmer weather, not changing this crap in the cold
 
The poly clamshells didn’t last me a year before they ripped. Might have better luck on a street application :dunno:

I forget where I got mine, but like someone noted, replace the transmission mount too. The mounts are pretty easy to R&R. Drill the old rivets out, put in new rivets. If it's really old and worn you may not even have to take the clam shell apart for disassembly. My '79 was getting so much movement the clutch pivot tube would pop off the socket. Relatively easy job though.
