Getting ready to put a new motor in a '90 suburban. Feel like I should replace the motor mounts while I'm in there. Not sure which way to go parts store mounts are$25~ , ac delco $100~ or go poly, I know I would have to do the transmission also which I'm fine with.

It's a stock 350 truck will mostly go down the road and light offroad.

Part store ones should be fine. It’s best to take em and match them up. Some weird variations in there

lots of guys have been killing parts store mounts real fast these days .

i always do the 2 mounts and trans / t-case mount combo from energy suspension . i just did some on a build the other day .

stock rubber on top and energy suspension bottom . ebay was cheepest shipped at around 24 bucks each for motor mounts and the t-case mount i found 1 on auction cheep and one on sale at 50 . other wise reg 63 bucks shipped for 85-up like you would need .

Bringing this back up because I was going to just order the kit with both. Yah its cheaper to buy each one individually. Not sure why they put it as kit if it is more expensive.

I killed my anchor rubber mounts in one dune trip. Hopefully I can get the new mounts to fit in the anchor clam shells.

I prefer the DIY4x mounts simply because install is easier and they are tough stuff.
I'm still running a stock rubber trans mount and have been for ~6 years now. Yes, I know, it's impossible to run different mounts, but I don't live in this reality.
That means my set up has seen 3 Moab trips, the Rubicon, Pismo dunes, hundreds of street miles, and several short wheeling trips.
The mount settled a tiny bit and I only noticed because the crossmember I built is already very close. I've got 3/16" washers between the adapter and mount to help space it back up some and more.
I'll have to double check it next time I'm under there. Haven't noticed anything funny though. I just didn't want to spend the money on a PolyP mount at the time. I figured the rubber one would help stamp out driveline vibrations anyway.

I tore the upgraded poly's as well and I wouldn't recommend them for a rig that's wheeled pretty hard. I run DIY4X mounts now and would buy those or ORD's with a poly trans mount for your application.

Adam has been running his hard for several years. I know he used to kill mounts alot before that.

Read the OP
Road and light off road

I’ve never killed a set I got from parts house under those conditions
