Motor suggestions

I want to repalce my 305 soon and want suggestions on what motor to go with. I want to re-use as much stuff as possible but i know some things will have to go. I love the TBI but i know more power might mean a conversion to gen III engine. Id like something that would have no problems turning 38's with 4.56 gears on 1 tons. My DREAM is a Dmax...but i KNOW that is past saturn as far as cost goes. How hard and how expensive is a gen III swap. I saw the genIII post on here but that guy gave no indication of price. A genIII is actually easier to adapt then a TBI and it's rather cheap.
I have seen them go for $1500 for engine tranny combo.

a 350 will use the same accessories as your current motor

The gen 3 swap has become very common though. They are strong motors it is what I plan to do for my blazer when the time comes
